From retyping to paste and done: paste the details, and the event is in the calendar.

The challenge

Collect (collect.fyi) handles tour operations for artists in the events and music industry. The details for each event come in from different sources, like email, WhatsApp and PDFs. They were entered into the calendar by hand, event by event. That takes time, and you only spot a typo when it's too late.

Approach

We deliberately started with one process. We built an intake agent: one place where you paste the details. The system then creates the event in the calendar, with every detail in the right place, so nobody has to retype anything.

Result

Creating an event or several bookings for an artist went from about 5 minutes to about 1 minute. Measured with an artist's manager as the user.
